Take time to stop and smell the roses

“God knows your every need and desire. He listens to your every sigh and sees every tear. He surrounds you completely. Even though you do not see the end of the road, you need not fear.”

At my work, we receive an encouraging word or verse every morning. This was the quote from this morning. It didn’t say who wrote it. It hit the spot though. For those of you who follow this blog, you are aware of the situation with my foot. Here’s an update. Over the weekend, I couldn’t get the pain under control. I was taking 800mg of Ibuprofen and it wasn’t touching the pain. That’s the maximum dose I can take. I called the doctor’s office on Monday and told them what was going on. I asked if I needed crutches or if they would rather prescribe me some pain medication. I was up for either. Just let me say that now I really wish they had prescribed me the medicine. I don’t know if any of you have ever used crutches but let me tell you something. They provide an awareness of muscles you didn’t know you had. So we’ve reached an impasse. Walking without them is a big no-no. However, walking with them causes a whole lot of pain in my arms and hands. Interesting predicament. So anyway, back to my quote. Here I am thinking about what on earth they could possibly do about this whole situation. Wondering if the outcome includes surgery or some other form of something uncomfortable. Basically, I’ll be honest. I’m worrying. I know, I know, I shouldn’t. But let’s face it… this is my foot we’re talking about. My very mobility is hanging in the balance here. Now, I know the Bible says not to worry, “Be anxious over nothing”, but let me be the first to tell you that it’s easier said than done. This quote helped this morning though. God knows everything I’m thinking. He knows what I want. Gosh, He actually knows how this happened and why. He knows how frustrating it is to have been in pain for 4 ½ months. He’s even kind enough not to mention that it’s nothing compared to the pain that He went through. He’s in control. He knows what the outcome will be and He will even get me through it. It’s like the “Footprints” poem. He’s carrying me right now, which I so desperately need. Now, I can’t guarantee that I won’t worry about it in the future, or whenever I pick up my crutches, but it’s a nice remind to “Let go and let God.”

On a happier note, my family came over yesterday evening for dinner and a movie. We enjoyed a simple meal of sub sandwiches and watched “Transformers” in HD on our surround sound system. They were duly impressed. J For those of you who haven’t seen the movie, I’d recommend it. Now, you may have heard that the plot isn’t that great. Be that as it may in your opinion but the graphics make up for it. Just bear in mind that this was based on a cartoon from the ‘80s. They were kinda limited. But honestly, it’s a good movie.

I have an MRI tomorrow at 3:30. Once I have results, I’ll let you know.

Until next time,
Gimpy a.k.a. Ariel

Hi, Honey. I just caught up with all your blog posts. I didn't know anything about your foot and I'm sorry to hear you have been in so much pain. I had to have a cortisone shot in my shoulder for arthritis not too long ago and it was a miracle. Hopefully, it will help you as well. I can't believe you can get a fracture and not know it!!

Who is Claire??? Is this couple friends with you all? She is darling! I'm sure Jennifer and Chris will be encouraged by this post! Hopefully, their adoption will go through soon and they will have their own little Claire.

Hope your foot is better soon!
